Beijing Olympic flame reaches Mt. Qomolangma base camp

An official with the Olympic torch relay says the Beijing Olympic flame has reached the Base Camp of the world's highest mountain - Mount Qomolangma.

The base camp is 5,200 metres above sea level. About 30 national and international journalists have gathered in Tingri County in Tibet's Xigaze Prefecture and will be heading to the News Center in Rongbuk Monastery at the foot of the mountain on Monday.
