According to the Tourism Bureau of the Tibet Autonomous Region, travel for domestic tourists resumed late last week. While tourists from the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions can enter Tibet after May 1st. But there's been no mention yet of when foreign visitors can resume travel to the region.

Many tour agencies in Shanghai and Guangdong have begun to advertise their packages. And many visitors are showing a keen interest.

Meanwhile, tour operators are making every effort to contact hotels and local tour agencies to confirm itineraries and prices.

Experts say not all sites are open to visitors because it is still the low season for travel to Tibet. But, due to that, visitors can hope for some discounts.
