Iraq's Foreign Minister says efforts to bring together US and Iranian officials to discuss security in Iraq are faltering due to wavering commitment and conflicts of timing and schedules.

Iraq is pressing for a fourth meeting that has yet to be scheduled. Hoshyar Zebari says the two sides need to stick to an agreed date.

He says Iraqi officials had managed to get Iran and the US to agree on four dates, but none of them worked because of scheduling reasons.

The US and Iran have held three rounds of ambassador-level talks in Baghdad since last May on Iraqi security.
