Deputies have said they completely agreed with Wu Bangguo's work report. They also commented on issues like reviving old industrial bases, food production and environmental protection.

Wen Jiabao said Northeast China is a good industrial base with many resources. He called for the development of technical industries like large equipment production.

He also said reviving the Northeast's old industrial bases is not a short-term task and the final goal is sustainable development in the region. He stressed this will require resource efficiency, eco-friendly construction and environmental protection.
