General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Hu Jintao  joined discussions with the Tibetan delegation.

They talked about Premier Wen Jiabao's government work report, promoting the local economy, improving people's livelihood and construction of a harmonious Tibet.

Hu Jintao was pleased to see photos showcasing improved lives for the Tibet people. After listening to seven deputies' speeches, Hu Jintao called on them to adhere to the outlook on scientific development with Chinese and Tibetan characteristics, and to rapidly promote local economic development.

Hu called on local officials to do the utmost to ensure people's livelihoods, and to maintain Tibet's harmony and stability.

Hu Jintao appreciated the efforts made by local officials' at all levels, and urged them to help and support each other, especially those in remote and undeveloped areas.
