Many newly-appointed members are excited about the upcoming meeting of China's top political advisory body.

Hou Lu, CPPCC Member, said, "It's my first time to attend the meeting. I feel very proud and also the huge responsibility on my shoulders."

Li Hongta, CPPCC Member, said, "The south of China suffered serious snow storms this winter. My proposal calls on the central government to put in place the state disaster relief law soon and strengthen the emergency response system in the face of major natural disasters. "

Chen Pingping, CPPCC Member, said, "What interests me most is how to better transform the achievements of our scientific research into productive force. The country has been increasing investment in science and technology and we science workers should better combine our academic interests with the country's needs."

Hu Shuhua, CPPCC Member, said, "The role of the self-innovation strategy in China's new round of economic development is of special interest to me."

So far, CPPCC members from Jilin, Hubei,and Shanxi, as well as Inner Mongolia, have arrived in Beijing.
