The five permanent members of the UN Security Council together with Germany have agreed on a draft resolution for a third round of sanctions.

It comes in response to Iran's refusal to suspend uranium enrichment a process that can produce nuclear fuel for a reactor or fissile material for a weapon.

Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, said, "The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iranian Parliament have had great roles in the nuclear issue. Different Iranian officials stood united in this case and, wherever Iranian officials showed a unity of opinion, they helped the strengthening and development of Iran."
