Electricity resotred in most areas in S. China

Special Report: Winter Storm ReliefPower supplies have been restored to most areas in southern China, after being disrupted by last month's snowstorms .
Authorities say damaged electricity networks in Yunnan province are now running smoothly. So far, over 93 percent of the power transmission lines in Yunan are functioning. The power networks in the province are likely to return to normal by the end of this month.
Severe snow storms in late January also caused water shortages in wide areas in the south of the country. In Guizhou province, more than 700 soldiers are joining efforts to repair frozen water pipes.
As the new semester for primary and middle school students began on Monday, most schools have power in Hunan province.
