The new blanket of snow fell on East China's Shandong Province on Sunday delaying flights and forcing some freeways to close.A yellow alert has been issued in Jiangsu Province, warning of icy roads.

In the far northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, five airports were closed and more than 10，000 cattle killed in blizzards, creating losses of 18 million yuan, or 2.5 million US dollars. Supplies of water and food for livestock have been affected in northern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Heavy snow is expected in some parts of the country's central, eastern, northern and western regions.
