Traffic is moving again after weeks of snow fall in southwest China's Guizhou Province - one of the worst-hit areas. Thousands of stranded passengers are now on their way home.

90 percent of the province''s transportation depends on roads. It''s taken a big hit from the large-scale shut down caused by the winter storm. After days of massive snow removal efforts, most roads are accessible again.

After two snow-bound weeks, thousands of passengers in Guiyang city are leaving for the annual family reunion.

They can get hot food for a good price at the station, but nothing compares with home.

A passenger said, "I've told my wife that I'm on my way. She says she will prepare a big dinner for me!"

Ou Xiaohai from Guizhou Dept. of Communication said, "There's no change in ticket prices. We will also give subsides to detoured vehicles and their drivers. "

Forecasts indicate a new round of snow on Monday and Tuesday. Transportation authorities still have a lot of work ahead.
