Efforts continue to limit the amount of damage to transportation, electricity, and communication infrastructure.

Highway authorities have dispatched more workers to clean up the snow and help trucks that have stalled. About ten-thousand trucks have been rerouted.

Authorities in charge of air, railway and road travels are working hard to keep traffic flowing ahead of the Spring Festival.

On Sunday, the Ministry of Railways mobilized 38 extra trains to help 500,000 passengers reach their destination.

To reduce the number of stranded passengers, railway officials are also speeding up the time for checkups.

Shang Shuting, head of Zhengzhou Railway Satation, said, "The measure means trains are being checked and repaired on site, at the station, immediately after their arrival. That way they can return to service right away."

By doing this, the Zhengzhou station is able to serve 10-thousand passengers a day.

For passengers who have been delayed, railway stations have set up facilities to provide temporary shelter.

Meanwhile, highway authorities have dispatched more workers to clean up the snow and help trucks that have stalled. About ten-thousand trucks have been rerouted.

Airports in at least 10 cities were closed temporarily. Most of them have already resumed operation on Monday. They have also set up makeshift areas for delayed passengers.

Authorities are also keeping an eye on food and other prices in regions hard hit by the weather. To help keep prices down, the government has ordered all highways not to charge tolls to trucks carrying fresh vegetables and food.
