A Chinese New Year Concert has been held at the Golden Hall in Vienna. Among those present were China's ambassador to Austria and other diplomats, as well as local distinguished guests.

Noted singers performed selections from revolutionary classics that included "The White-Haired Girl."

On Saturday evening, Chinese opera filled the Golden Concert Hall of Vienna. Noted singers performed selections from revolutionary classics that included "The White-Haired Girl." And internationally acclaimed violinist Lv Siqing brought down the house with "The Butterfly Lovers."

The performance was a joint effort by Chinese artists and the Austrian Symphony Orchestra.

Chinese ambassador to Austria Wu Ken said, "For eight years, every Chinese New Year Concert has brought excitement to Austrian audiences. More people know China through music. Our artists also express their New Year wish to audiences back home and good wishes to the Beijing Olympics through their performances."

Vienna is a city of music and the Golden Hall is considered the "Holy of Holies." It's hosted a Chinese New Year concert every year since 2001. The various types of music brought by Chinese artists have delighted Austrian audiences.
