China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation General Manager Ma Xingrui says the Shenzhou-7 manned spacecraft is scheduled for launch next year.

While in orbit, Chinese astronauts are expected to conduct a space walk for the first time. Ma also says the Shenzhou-7 manned spacecraft is now going through integrated tests.

Engineers have overcome difficulties in core technology like the air-lock module. The assembly of a Long March Two-F rocket to launch the spacecraft is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
