Analyst: China-French close relations to continue in Sarkozy era

Real progress has been seen in many areas ranging from politics, economy and trade and extending to science and technology, education and the judiciary.
Two-way trade reached 17 billion dollars in the first seven months of this year, up 25 percent year on year.
The two countries have also maintained close coordination on many issues international issues.
Feng Zhongping said, "The new government of France is paying more attention to relations with other countries. With the development of China, France hopes it can take more responsibility in the world. Sarkozy may put more pressure on China over issues like the Renminbi currency and trade frictions."
With more cooperation between the two countries, differences and friction may also increase. But analysts say this will not impact bilateral relations' forward movement.
