Special Report:   Chang'e I -Journey to the Moon

According to information released by the Beijing Aerospace Control Center, the satellite is expected to lose communication with the ground for 45 minutes on Monday.

Experts say the communication blackout is a result of the moon's motion trajectory. Officials at the center will closely monitor the operation of the satellite during this period.

Chang'e One completed its nearly two-million-kilometer journey to the moon and entered its final lunar orbit last Wednesday. It's expected to begin transmitting the first pictures of the moon in late November.
