Panda Mei sheng arrives in Sichuan

After a three-hour flight, the panda Mei Sheng has finally arrived in Sichuan, home of his parents.
Mei Sheng arrived in Chengdu around noon on Wednesday. He was then sent to the Wolong Nature Reserve aboard a special vehicle. Mei Sheng will be quarantined for a month before meeting visitors.
The panda was born in a Californian zoo four years ago. His parents were leased to the zoo. But under an agreement between China and the US, cubs born to pandas on loan belong to China, and must be returned when they reach sexual maturity.
