The "Chang'e 1" needs to travel 380,000 kilometers to get to the moon but it won't fly there directly. The flight process of Chang'e 1 is divided into four phases: the active phase, the phase-modulation orbit, the earth-moon transfer orbit and the circumlunar orbit.

After the separation of "Chang'E 1" from the launch vehicle, the probe enters the 16-hour Earth orbit.
