Foreign Party leaders send congratulations to 17th CPC Nat´l Congress

Political parties from around the world and their leaders have sent congratulatory messages to the 17th CPC National Congress.

Kim Jong Il, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea -- "Hu's re-election embodies the trust that the CPC, the Chinese army and the Chinese people place on him."

Fidel Castro, first secretary of the Central Committee of Communist Party of Cuba -- "Hu's re-election, once again, demonstrates the approval of his leadership role in the CPC as well as his efforts to safeguard China's national sovereignty and promote the cause of socialism."

Demetris Christofias, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Progressive Party of the Working People of Cyprus -- "As the world economy globalizes, China has been adhering to its own way of developing its economy and has made rapid progress."

Fernando Lasama de Araujo, President of the Democratic Party of East Timor and Speaker of the National Parliament -- "The 17th Congress of the CPC puts special emphasis on making concerted efforts with other countries to contribute to a more harmonious and prosperous world, which our Party admires deeply."

Sam Nujoma, President of Namibia's Southwest African People's Organization (SWAPO) Party -- "The SWAPO Party hopes that the resolutions adopted by the CPC congress will add more impetus to the consolidation and strengthening of bonds of solidarity between the two Parties."

The Secretariat of the Unity Party of Liberia -- "The Party is very pleased to note the tremendous progress and development being enjoyed by the Chinese people under the able and far-sighted leadership of the CPC."
