China will send its largest ever delegation of athletes to the 2008 Olympics. And the country promises that next year's Games here in Beijing will be clean.

As the host of the 2008 Olympics, China is striving to ensure everything runs perfectly.

Liu Peng ,Director-General of State Admin. of Sport said, "The Chinese delegation to the 2008 Games will consist of 570 athletes, the largest ever in China's Olympic history. "

By sending so many athletes, China hopes they will grab a large number of medals. But good sports performances are not the only Olympic goal. A successful, anti-doping and drug-free event is also a priority.

Liu peng said, "According to a report by the World Anti-Doping Agency, in 2006, the percentage of positive samples from all the tests around the world was two point one three. And in China, the figure was only zero point four percent. We'll try our best to make the 2008 Games a clean event. "

Liu Peng said China is currently assisting the International Olympic Committee with anti-doping efforts. And the country is building a new first-class testing facility.
