Turkey's Prime Minister says the only target of a possible incursion into mainly Kurdish northern Iraq is a terrorist organization.

Tayyip Erdogan says securing parliament's permission to launch a major attack on Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq does not mean that a military incursion is imminent.

Turkey's cabinet has asked parliament for permission to launch cross-border offensives following several Kurdish rebel attacks. The Parliament will debate the motion on Wednesday. It is expected to pass easily.
