The seventeenth National Congress of the CPC has not only been a grand event within the party itself. It has also attracted a lot of attention among the nation's non-communist parties.

For decades, multi-party cooperation has contributed to China's growth. Under the leadership of the Communist party, eight democratic parties play an essensial role in political consultation over the nation's major affairs. In Monday's Congress report, Hu Jintao said the Communist Party will strengthen its cooperation with the democratic parties. And the remark was warmly welcomed.

Jiang Shusheng is a physicist turned politician. His party, China Democratic Leadue unites people from the fields of science and technology, social sciences, and arts.

Jiang Shusheng, Chairman of China Democratic League said "As a party participating in China's politics, I feel the country's democratic process has been promoted along with its development. The construction of democratic politics is indispensable with the country's own situation, its history, its development and the international environment. And we'll keep working with the Communist Party to achieve this."
