Special Report:   17th CPC National Congress

The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection has held its last plenary session before the 17th Party Congress.

The two-day meeting discussed and approved a work report to be submitted to the Party Congress, which opens on Monday. The meeting said the Central and local Commissions for Discipline Inspection have pushed ahead with tackling corruption in the five years since the 16th Party Congress.

Though significant progress has been made, the meeting said, people should be aware that the battle against corruption is long-term, complicated and difficult.

It stressed the importance of solving the problem at its roots. The meeting said prevention and improving the system are just as important as punishing those who are guilty.
