6-party talks to resume in Beijing

The next round of talks on ending the DPRK's nuclear program will resume in Beijing on Thursday. China hopes all six countries taking part will work together to push forward the denuclearization process on the Korean Peninsula.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu says the outcome of the talks will depend on the parties involved.

Jiang Yu, spokeswoman of Chinese Foreign Ministry,said, "The Chinese government hopes that all parties will make a joint effort to push for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Hopefully, the talks will achieve some positive results."

The DPRK's chief negotiator arrived in Beijing on Tuesday. He said this round of talks are crucial for the the process.

Kim Kye-Gwan, DPRK's chief negotiator,said, "This round of talks are very important. If the agreements we have achieved before can be brought into effect, we will push forward the process of denuclearising. If we fail to come to an agreement, we will go back to where we started."

The second phase of the sixth round of the six-party talks will hear reports from the five working groups on Thursday. And then decide on a set of concrete steps to fully implement the February 13th agreements.

US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill,said, "Well again we'll be discussing how to handle the monitoring and actually the execution of the disablement so that will be something we discuss in the six party meeting. We'll be waiting to get a report in the six party meeting from the experts that recently visited."

The DPRK has shut down five key nuclear facilities.

It also recently pledged to comply with an agreement to disclose all nuclear programs and disable nuclear facilities in exchange for economic aid and political concessions.
