CPC Int´l exchange makes progress

The Chinese Communist Party says its relations with other parties around the world have become closer, fostering a peaceful and stable environment for China's modernization drive. Vice director of the party's international department, Zhang Zhijun, made the remarks at a press conference in Beijing today. Zhang also promised the party's work on external relations would be more active in the near future.

It's a party that leads nearly a fourth of the world's population. The Communist Party of China has long been working on fostering better relations with other parties around the world. Through party-to-party channels, its image of "working for the public and running the power for the people" has gained a worldwide reputation.

The vice director of International Department of the Party Central Committee praised the achievements brought about by inter-party contacts in recent years. They involve over 400 parties in more than 160 nations.

Zhang zhijun,Vice Director of CPC International Dept.,said, "The exchanges between the CPC and other parties in the world have help enhanced mutual understandings. The Party has played a vital role in pursuing healthy and stable relationships between China and other countries."

Zhang Zhijun also fielded questions about the upcoming CPC National Congress. He said it's the custom for newly-elected Party leaders to make their media debut after every national congress. He said his department will keep the world media up to date on the developments of the country's greatest political event during the congress.
