For the first time in the United Nations history, Palestinian and Israeli artists are showcasing their artwork in a joint exhibition at the organization's headquarters in New York. The show, called "Offering Reconciliation", has been organized by families who have lost loved ones in the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians.
The Exhibition is made up of decorated plates, which started out identically before being transformed by more than 130 Palestinian and Israeli artists.
Through different styles and patterns, each artist expresses their hope for a better world. The items have been on display for two years at various locations, including Brandeis University and the World Bank. The exhibit will be next shown at New York's Pomegranate Gallery. The plates will be auctioned in Chicago in November.
