Iran warns US not to attack

A senior Iranian official is threatening the United States with consequences if it launches a military strike against Tehran.

Iranian General Rahim Yahya Safavi says if the US attacks Iran, it may not be able to predict "the volume of Iran's response" and that Washington's oil supply might be in jeapardy.

Last week, Safavi stepped down as the Revolutionary Guard Chief and now serves as a senior military advisor to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
