The 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China or CPC is proposed to convene in Beijing beginning Oct.15th.
A series of plans for the country including national agenda for the next five years are expected to be set at the Congress.
The Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee decided at a meeting on Tuesday to make the proposal to the last Plenum of the 16th CPC Central Committee, which is set to be held at Oct. 9th.
The 17th CPC National Congress is considered a very important one, coming at a time when China has entered a key stage of reform and development.
The Congress will be guided by "Deng Xiaoping Theory" and the "thoughts of Three Represents".
It is scheduled to review the Party's work in the past five years and set the national agenda for the next five.
