Negotiations between the Taliban and South Korea now focus on freeing the remaining 19 hostages held in Afghanistan. This follows the release of two women who were seriously ill.

Ghazni governor Merajuddin Patan says they can do nothing to help. The Taliban insist the remaining 19 hostages will only be freed if some Taliban prisoners are let go.

Several South Korean diplomats and two Taliban delegates have held face-to-face talks on the hostages in Ghazni city since Friday night.

The talks are expected to continue. The Afghan government refuses to release Taliban prisoners.
