In order to ensure the hostages are released safely, South Korea's presidential envoy Baek Jong-Chun flew to Kabul Saturday and held talks with Afghan President Hamid Karzai Sunday.
The Afghan president has condemned the Taliban's act as shameless, especially abducting women as hostages as this runs contrary to Muslim's preachings. Karzai has stressed his government will do whatever it can to get the safe release of the 22 hostages.
