A huge anniversary parade was held in Hong Kong on Sunday. The turn-out was one of the largest gatherings in the S.A.R. over the past few decades.
Dragon dances, Peking opera figures and western style performances all had their place, proclaiming Hong Kong's special status as a cultural juncture of the east and west.

HongKonger said, "To mark the anniversary is a delightful thing for us. I would remain in the parade even if it rains cats and dogs."
