"A Symphony of Lights" expanded to celebrate HKSAR´s 10th anniversary

"A Symphony of Lights", which is a special light and sound show, will embrace 10 more landmark buildings, the Information Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government said on Sunday.

The expansion of the show, which is the World's Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show on Guinness World Records, is to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.

A total of 43 buildings will be featured in the nightly spectacle, including 23 on Hong Kong Island and 20 on Kowloon side.The expanded show with rooftop pyrotechnic displays on both sides of Victoria Harbor will be launched by Acting Financial Secretary Stephen Ip on June 26.

With more light emitting diodes (LED) lights and searchlights, as well as a laser to be used for the first time on a Kowloon building, namely K11, there will be greater interaction of these lighting fixtures on both sides of Victoria Harbor.

The special lighting effects have been composed to reflect the five themes of the show -- "Awakening", "Energy", "Heritage", " Partnership" and "Celebration".
