Expansion of HK Convention and Exhibition Center to complete in 2009

In Hong Kong, the Special Administrative Region is pressing ahead with efforts to expand its exhibition facilities. This, to maintain its position as Asia's trade fair capital and secure its position as a premier international convention and meeting location.
The latest expansion of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center got underway about one year ago. Upon completion in 2009, the expansion will add more than 20,000 square meters to the center.
This will bring the total exhibition area to nearly 83,000 square meters. And the total function space available for rent to nearly 90,000 square meters.
The center opened in 1988. It was later expanded in 1997 doubling its prime function space.
