President Bush will veto a new bill drafted by Democrats that would fund the Iraq war only through July.

The White House issued the warning Wednesday. The bill will give Bush half the money he has requested for the war effort.

A vote in July will determine whether to approve the rest. This will hinge on the Iraqi government's progress in meeting political benchmarks.

Bush has requested over 90 billion US dollars to sustain the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan through September.
