Blair to announce resignation later this week

British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, is likely to announce his resignation later this week.

But he gave no further details in an interview with Sky News on Tuesday. Blair only said he would make an announcement in the next few days. The Prime Minister was also asked how much he thought the Northern Ireland peace process would be part of his legacy.

Blair seemed unwilling to comment, saying this was a matter for others to judge. The Prime Minister announced his expected step-down in September last year, saying it would come ahead of his end of term in office.
