Mainland offers preferential policies for Taiwan

The preferential policies the mainland authorities are offering Taiwan. They include education, air transport, sea links and ross-straits tourism.

1. The Ministry of Education welcoming colleges in Taiwan to recruit on the mainland. And will offer support to students who go to study in Taiwan.

2. The Ministry of Public Security will add Guangzhou, Qingdao and Wuhan as new entry and exit points for Taiwan compatriots going to and from the mainland.

3. The Ministry of Personnel will create fifteen more professional certification tests for Taiwan people on the mainland, including economics, health care, I-T and quality management. Taiwan professionals can submit their applications for these tests to any test management organization on the mainland.

4. The Ministry of Communications is offering five policies:

It will encourage direct investment by Taiwan companies in the construction and running of roads and docks on the mainland.

Taiwan investment allowed on the mainland will include sole investment shipping, container transport, goods storage, international ship management, road transportation, and passenger transport.

Taiwan shipping companies running direct passenger services between the coast of Fujian Province and Jinmen, Mazu and Penghu can set up ticket-selling branches in Fujian.

Professional certification for sailors and divers from Taiwan will be free of charge.

And rescue teams on the mainland will provide full emergency rescue cover when natural disasters happen in the Taiwan Straits.

5. The Civil Aviation Administration's new measures to boost cross-strait exchanges include:

The cities Chengdu, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Dalian and Guilin will become non-stop flight sites.

If bad weather or other problems prevents designated airports to close, other civil aviation landing sites will be made available.

From May 1st, all airlines offering cross straits chartered flights can set up agencies on the mainland.

The CAAC will explore more ways to coordinate between the airlines across the straits.

And it will make joint efforts with authorities in Taiwan to train personnel in the civil aviation industry, and encourage them to work in the mainland.

6. China's National Tourism Administration calls on related sectors in Taiwan to boost Taiwan's non-governmental tourism agencies so that mainland tourists can go to Taiwan.

MAINLAND'S PREFERENTIAL POLICIES FOR TAIWAN

1---- Ministry of Education welcomes Taiwan colleges to recruit on the mainland.

2---- From May 15th, Ministry of Public Security will add Guangzhou, Qingdao and Wuhan new entry and exit points for Taiwan compatriots going to and from the mainland.

3---- Ministry of Personnel will open 15 more professional certification tests to Taiwan residents. Taiwan professionals can submit their applications for these tests to any test management organization on the mainland.

4---- Ministry of Communications encourages direct investment by Taiwan companies in construction and operation of roads and docks on the mainland.

Taiwan companies can invest directly on the mainland in various sectors.

Taiwan shipping companies running direct passenger transportation in Fujian Province, Kinmen, Matsu and Penghu, can open ticket-selling agencies.

The Ministry of Communications will offer free certification to sailors and divers from Taiwan.

Rescue teams on Mainland will provide full emergency rescue services when natural disasters happen in the Taiwan Straits.

5---- The CAAC will open more cities for non-stop flights, including Chengdu, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Dalian and Guilin.

Alternative civil aviation landing sites will be made available in case of bad weather or other problems.

From May 1st, all airlines that fly chartered flights between the mainland and Taiwan will be allowed to set up agencies or representative offices on the mainland.

CAAC will continue to provide more favorable policies for coordination among the airlines across the straits, and encourage closer partnership in more areas.

CAAC will make joint efforts with authorities in Taiwan to train personnel for the civil aviation industry.

6---- National Tourism Administration calls for tourist sectors in Taiwan to boost Taiwan's non-governmental tourism agencies so that mainland tourists can go to Taiwan.
