Top Chinese leaders discuss state issues with NPC deputies, CPPCC members

On Tuesday, top leaders joined NPC deputies and CPPCC members in panel discussions.

President Hu Jintao joined the discussion and deliberation of the Hunam delegation on Tuesday afternoon. After speeches from ten deputies, Hu stressed the importance of rural construction. He said the central government should provide more aid to agriculture and rural areas, speed up the modernization process of agriculture and educate more people from rural regions. Hu Jintao said China should follow a new path in its industrialization. It should expand better industries, increase creativity and innovation, strengthen efforts to protect the environment and increase energy efficiency. He said the government will give priority to the issues that the people are most concerned about.
