Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has announced the start of the new Baghdad security plan. But sectarian bloodshed continues to engulf the capital and surroundings areas.

As al-Maliki vowed that Iraqi authorities would pursue outlaws and impose law by force, a parked car bomb exploded near a market in the Bayaa neighborhood in southwest Baghdad, killing two people and wounding seven others.

Speaking in the holy city of Karbala, 90 kilometers south of Baghdad, al-Maliki said Wednesday was the start of the new security plan for Baghdad.

al-Maliki, said, "We warn everyone who goes against it, we are now ready to impose law by force on all those who want to continue with rebellion."

On Wednesday, Iraqi troops in armored vehicles were seen searching cars and people at the entrances of the Shiite area of Sadr City.
