Chinese President Hu Jintao has left Beijing for state visits to eight African nations. Between now and February 10th he goes to Cameroon, Liberia, Sudan, Zambia, Namibia, South Africa, Mozambique and Seychelles.

Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said the tour is another major move by China toward African nations following the Beijing summit last November.

He said Hu's visit aims at deepening the traditional friendship and bringing to realization the agreements reached at the Beijing summit. These agreements include eight commitments the Chinese president made to help African countries.
