Hamas-led gov´t meets Egyptian delegation to discuss ending violence in Gaza

The Hamas-led Palestinian government has held an urgent meeting with an Egyptian delegation to discuss ending internal violence in Gaza and the West Bank.

Hamas spokesman said the meeting focussed on removing weapons and checkpoints from Palestinian streets in Gaza, and also releasing hostages.

Meanwhile, Hamas said on Sunday it accepted an invitation by Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah for talks in the holy city of Mecca, with rival faction Fatah.
