Afghanistan: Suicide bomber kills 10

In one of the deadliest explosions in months as many as ten workers have been killed in a suicide bomb attack outside a US army base in eastern Afghanistan.

The attacker detonated explosives strapped to his chest, while lining up with hundreds of Afghan workers waiting to enter the base in the city of Khost. An Afghan warlord with links to the Taliban and al-Qaeda says US forces will only face humiliating defeat in the country.

He's also taunting Pakistan for aiding US-led counter-terrorism operations. The warlord comparing his country with Iraq by accusing Washington of causing conflict among Afghan ethnic groups.
