New CRH bullet trains arrive in Shanghai

Six homemade bullet trains have been delivered to Shanghai to help with the Chinese New Year travel peak.
The trains were modeled on the Japanese Shin-kan-sen. Each has a maximum capacity of more 600 passengers and top speeds of 250 kilometers per hour. During the holiday, four of the trains will run between Shanghai and Hangzhou, while the other pair will run between Shanghai and Nanjing.

In April, they will also operate on the Beijing-Shanghai route, cutting down the journey from 12 hours to 10.
