Iran insists on nuclear program despite UN sanctions

Iran's Foreign Minister has announced that Iran will continue its nuclear program even if the United Nations imposes sanctions.

At a joint news conference with his Armenian counterpart, Manouchehr Mottaki said any sanctions imposed by the west will be ineffective.

Iran argues that as a signatory to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, it is entitled to the peaceful use of uranium, and maintains its nuclear program is entirely for generating electricity.
