Foreign ministers, trade ministers, and representatives from 21 APEC member economies met on Wednesday. They drew up plans for the group's future free trade, security, and system reform.

The 18th APEC Ministerial Meeting opened Wednesday morning at Hanoi's National Convention Center. It is in preparation for the 14th APEC Economic Leaders informal meeting slated for Saturday and Sunday.

Officials said during the two-day meeting, delegates are to review APEC cooperation and define new action plans and initiatives, including those on improving investment and the business climate.
