Changing face of old city of Yan´an

Duan Kun has been a taxi driver for seven years. He's witnessed enormous changes throughout the city.
Duan Kun, taxi driver said, "The streets were in chaos and homes were run-down. Big changes have taken place. Now the city is cleaner, with lots of tall buildings springing up. People go about their lives in high spirits."
Yan'an has put a high priority on its six major industries: forestry, agriculture, animal husbandry, crude oil, coal and tourism.
The urban infrastructure has been developing at fast pace over the past few years. In 2005, Yan'an's gross urban product reached 37 billion yuan, ranking second in Shaanxi province.
Liu Ming from CCTV said, "The city of Yan'an is presenting a brand-new image to the world. This sacred place of revolution will take on a new look that combines modernity and history."
