WATCH VIDEO

A few of the hundreds of thousands of Pakistan displaced by the fighting received much-needed food supplies on Sunday.

It included bags of flour, sugar, dried milk and rice.

Many people have sought refuge in and around Mardan.

Some newly arrived families complain that they lack basic living facilities.

Mohammed Parwaez, Displaced Person from Swat said "We've gone more than 24 hours without eating. There is no food here, no water, othing. I have small children. What can I do? The officials told me to go outside and buy water, but we don't have any kitchen items."

Tens of thousands of civilians, many on foot or donkey-led carts, took advantage of a lifted curfew to flee the embattled Swat Valley over the weekend.
