6 pandas arrive in Beijing for National Day

The Beijing Zoo has renovated its Giant Panda Exhibition Hall to receive the new tenants. The Zoo also plans to hold a series of activities in the coming months, including exhibitions and seminars about panda conservation.

Six pandas arrived in Beijing Zoo from Sichuan province on Wednesday evening.

Zhang Jinguo said, "The six pandas will add to the festivity of the National Day celebrations in October. In addition, through the exhibition of these pandas, we hope to improve the awareness of the general public in protecting giant pandas and other wildlife."

The six pandas are expected to meet the Beijing public on May 1st. They will stay at the Beijing Zoo for a year before going back home in Sichuan.
