Premier vists quake zone to give best wishes

Wen Jiabao came to the quake-hit counties of Beichuan,
Deyang and Wenchuan in Sichuan Province on Jan. 24 and 25,

Earlier in the day, Premier Wen Jiabao also visited the ruins of the old Beichuan County, where he mourned the victims.

In the Xinyu Village Wen extended his New Year wishes to villagers who have moved into newly-built houses. He encouraged them to be optimistic and confident in themselves and the country.

The premier also went to the New Oriental Vehicle Company which suffered heavy losses in the earthquake. The company survived the crisis and achieved 13 percent growth in production.

Wen Jiabao praised the company for its success and called on people to restore confidence in the economy. He said the country has already conquered natural disaster, so it can brave the global financial crisis and achieve fast and sound economic development.

Wen Jiabao, Chinese Premier, said,"The Oriental Vehicle Corporation can withstand the crisis and we should have confidence in our country."

Later, Wen Jiabao toured a temporary housing community where nearly a thousand quake survivors spent the Lunar New year.

Several families shared one kitchen to prepare their festive dinner.

The Premier joined their work and made a dish for them.

Sharing their happiness, Premier Wen Jiabao promised that reconstruction will be accelerated and residents can spend the next New Year in new houses.
