He also says that Palestinians are in urgent need of humanitarian aid.

Gordon Brown, British Prime Minister, said, There are talks that are going on that would actually take us beyond the immediate violence into the sort of solutions we want, but the very events that we are seeing emphasis what the real challenge is: Israel needs to be secure, Palestine needs to be viable."

Meanwhile, protesters around the world gathered over the weekend to express their condemnation of Israel's military action.

Several thousand people marched through the streets in Gaza to condemn Israel's actions.

In Lebanon, hundreds of Palestinian refugees went out in the narrow streets to protest the ongoing strikes.

In Indonesia, hundreds of Muslim protesters marched along Jakarta's main road to show solidarity with the Palestinians.

Similar protests have also taken place in Europe and North America.
