They believe that Europeans look at their cars solely as a means of transport unlike the Japanese who consider the interior of the vehicle as a living space.

Shigeru Ban, Show Creator, said, "Cars in Europe are designed as pure transportation means to go from one place to one place as quickly as possible. Instead, we just try to enjoy inside so that is the very different aspect of how car inside, also the space itself and design as a reflection of lifestyle."

This year's car theme is a way of showing how the Japanese develop vehicles and design as a reflection of their daily lives.

And, while exploring the themes of size, environment and moving urban cells, the show also focuses closely on the future of mobility in densely-populated cities in the twenty-first century.
