Chen Shanguang, Head Astronaut Research & Training CTR, said, "Every step the spacewalker took, such as shifting the wire hooks that connected him with the spacecraft, and waving the Chinese national flag, all took lots of strength. So Zhai's weight dropped the most. We are going to use some treatments on them, including medicine, absorbing nourishment, and planning nutritious daily meals. They need more rest to get back to normal."
Space medical scientists also said space radioactivity, zero gravity in space and the virus-free environment in the spaceship might pose potential health hazards to the astronauts.
In addition, they still need time to adjust to the gravity back on Earth.
Since 2003, China has sent a total of six astronauts into space. The very first spacewalk mission, which concluded last Sunday, begun a new chapter for the Chinese nation in peacefully exploring and utilizing space.
